The intersection between branding and interior decor is the field of interior graphics. We've been amazed at how a space can be transformed into a pleasing, compelling, beautiful environment with the addition of well-conceived graphics and artfully displayed photography that tells a story of the organization. Here are a few recent projects we've done for three organizations in the health care and philanthropic fields.

The Ford Family Foundation wanted their office to express their mission. They collected historical and current photographic imagery and tasked the Imagine Group project graphics team with selecting images and designing a strong layout for the walls - including how they would be sized and grouped. Imagine Graphics then printed and mounted the photos and installed them along with the dimensional lettering you see here (above and below).

Some of the people photography that Imagine Photographics did for the Ford Family Foundation to publicize their scholarship programs was recently highlighted in our blog post on Illustrative People Photography on Location.
Clinic Graphics

The Community Health Centers of Lane County wanted to make their clinic interiors feel warm and welcoming with the addition of illustrative photos in the clinics' common spaces. So at the Charnelton Clinic, they held a photo contest among their employees to collect images of people and families suitable for display and then voted on which ones would be used. What a fun, connective and inclusive way to gather imagery! Imagine took care of the printing, mounting and the hanging with our favorite always-level low-profile french cleats.

Have you been over to try Marche's latest eatery, Le Bar? Le Bar is a Parisian style bar with the festive, comfortable, lively atmosphere you'd expect in such an establishment. Open from early til late in the 5th St. Public Market, just opposite Eugene's new boutique hotel Inn at the 5th, Le Bar serves breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week.
Don't you love the Parisian outdoor look they've got going with that wonderful red color, the cool lighting and, of course, the classic Parisian-looking signage!? Le Bar's sign is similar in style, yet more Parisian, than the Marche Provisions signage which you can see some of in Imagine Graphics' portfolio of retail and restaurant signs.
And if you go over to Le Bar between now and Sunday, you'll also get to enjoy BLOOM: The Art of Gardens, an outstanding collection of wonderful gardenscapes set up in the 5th St Public Market's outdoor spaces by some or our area's distinguished landscape companies. Directly in front of Le Bar is a beautiful Tuscan style garden complete with water features, created by The Country Gardener. Maybe this is the perfect excuse to make a breakfast date at Le Bar this week with a special someone and see these lovely gardens!

Annual events, like the
Oregon Bach Festival, build on their brand awareness by the consistent use of their logo and type. But they also have the opportunity to fan the flames of excitement for the current year's event by differentiating it from previous iterations through the use of a unique headline and compelling and new brand imagery. The Oregon Bach Festival's 2012 imagery is a vivid movement-rich flame photo representing 'The Power and The Passion'. Hopefully it evokes a desire to

Throwing a Great Business Event with Engaging Display Graphics
The Eugene Area Chamber of Commerce has a monthly networking event called Business After Hours. Hosted by a different member business each month, it is an opportunity for 200- 400 area business people to get together and mingle. Hosting is a great chance to show off a new facility but to make it more compelling than the typical business-mingle, we decided to engage attendees in something fun and experiential - The Marketing Trail.
Since Imagine Group's line of business is in printing trade show displays, signs and banners, wrapping trucks and vans with graphics, and awesome commercial photography, we got the idea to choose some beautiful projects we've produced for clients and get them back from our clients on loan for the event. We then set up a Marketing Trail with bright, interesting actual marketing pieces lining the sides of the Trail for visitors to see and touch and get inspired by.

To make it fun and engaging we created a Trail Trivia card where you could answer funny questions and get entered to win a Kindle Touch. People loved the chance to win. That was a big motivator. As we handed out the cards, we could see that some people felt it was some sort of test, so we always said "Remember, there are no wrong answers! It's supposed to be fun." That brought a smile to their faces and off they went onto the Marketing Trail.

The Imagine Graphics section was like a trade show about trade show displays. But with no one trying to sell you anything or draw you into their booth. Very colorful and hot.

The Imagine Fleet Graphics section of the Marketing Trail was our back lot jam packed with really nice looking wrapped and lettered cars vans, box trucks and even a small semi truck. Lots to look at. For a lot of visitors it was the first time they tuned in to what a vehicle wrap actually is and "got it" that we do vehicle wraps.

The Imagine Photographics section was a bit harder to "get" because we had only a large photo of our downtown photography studio, rather than people getting to tour the studio itself. And the LCD slide show of some of the amazing shots in Lead Photographer, Steve Smith's portfolio was a bit lost to people.

It was great to see people spread out all throughout the Trail, standing around talking together and looking like they were enjoying themselves. Over 350 people attended.
We aim for all our marketing, and indeed all our business practices to be good for others as well as for ourselves. Our event succeeded in this department - it was a win-win for all. Every business has to do marketing and this was an opportunity for attendees to get ideas from seeing some ways that other area businesses and organizations do their marketing. A learning opportunity. Plus for our clients whose works were on display it was a bit of extra exposure and a point of pride for them. And hopefully we succeeded in having many attendees come away with a fuller understanding of what Imagine Group could do for their company.

Menu Signage
Restaurants that display menu signage need clear, attractive signs with a brand-consistent look and most of all, 100% accuracy of items and prices. This set of menu graphics for Dickie Jos at Valley River Mall and their attached sister store, YoMyMy frozen yogurt does the job with pizzaz.
|
|
|
|
Dickie Jos used a decorative metal divider to designate where the line should form. They put informative, colorful circular graphics atop each post in the divider to promote thier brand and entertain customers while they wait in line. The menu sign above the register is clean, well organized and easy to read.
|
|
|
Above: Detailed information about contents and allergens is offered on each of the frozen yogurt flavor signs. A consistent and pleasing layout builds trust in the product. The instant decodability of each sign is enhanced by a pictoral depiction of each flavor. And nice mounting hardware and a professional installation top it all off.
Below: Brand imagery added to the self serve dispensing machines and the surface above the check out counter with durable, wipable, bright StickerPrint Vinyl completes the effect.

There's a lot that goes into a fabulous photograph of food. Here are some behind-the-scenes sneak peeks into a photo shoot in the Imagine Photographics studio for the marketing team atCappelli Miles and their client, Abby's Pizza.
We have added some special adaptations the Imagine Photographics studio so it can accomodate both still photography and video filming happening simultaneously. This can make gathering marketing imagery more cost-effective for a brand, especially for food photography or product photography that requires multiple people to help set the stage and provide art direction. In this case, for the Abby's Pizza shoot, Cappelli Miles brought in 99 Productions to shoot some footage for TV and web.

The camera is linked up to multiple monitors, a large wall-mounted LCD TV and wirelessly connected to handheld iPads during the photo shoot, giving everyone in the studio instant access to the exact shots are they are being captured, so that those finishing touches can be made to the set to get the ultimate shot.

Does your business or organization have a van or a truck like one of these, that plies the roads daily, making deliveries or going out on service calls? When you're busy doing what you do, a lot of time can slip by after acquiring a new vehicle, before you get around to getting graphics on it. But every single day your truck is out on the street without your logo on it, there are literally thousands of people who see that truck and don't give it another thought because they have no idea whose truck it is.
|
| |
|
|
And in case you're someone who likes rhyme, here's a little encouragement (by Dr. Seuss with minor modifications), to get your logo on your vehicle ASAP.
Oh, the Places You'll Go with Vehicle Graphics!
Oh the places you'll go!
There's fun to be done!
There are points to be scored.
There are games to be won.
And the magical things you can do with that van will make you the winning-est winner on hand.
You'll be on your way up!
You'll be seeing great sights!
You'll join the high fliers
who soar to great heights.
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So... get on your way!
Oh, the places you'll go!
Don't leave your fleet all naked and raw.
For Pete's sake, get some graphics on your company car.
Then you'll be singing a whole different tune.
And the phone will be ringing right up to the moon.
Look at me!
Look at me!
Look at me NOW!
It is fun to have fun
But you have to know how.
