Using our Core Competency in Graphics & Photography to help Non-Profits

Whew! The nomination period for the Great Giveaway to Non-Profits just ended yesterday and wow!... what an awesome outpouring of support for non-profits from clients and community members. If you haven’t perused the 250+ nominations on our blog and our Facebook wall, I encourage you to check it out. It is very heartening to hear the passion many of the nominators conveyed for the work that these vital non-profits do.
Being socially responsible and supporting worthy organizations is an important part of the mission of Imagine Group. And it’s not just words on paper. Helping non-profits get their message out through the Great Giveaway – and engaging all of you via the nomination process – is super fun and really energizes our whole team.
Designing and producing awesome looking signs, graphics and photography is our core competency. We utilize this core competency every day on behalf of small and large businesses, and non-profit clients as well. But there is always more need in the non-profit community, than there are funds for exhibit graphics, professional photography and other cause related marketing. So we are asked throughout the year for donations of our services. And sometimes we quietly say yes. But we knew there was room for improvement in maximizing the impact of our giving.
Three years ago, we had just branded our three divisions – Imagine Graphics, Imagine Fleet Graphics and Imagine Photographics - and were trying to get the word out about that. We also wanted to systemize our business philanthropy so we could be more efficient and thus, afford to give more away, while still maintaining the viability of our business.
This is how the Great Giveaway to Non-Profits was born. It is a win-win in so many ways!
- Non-profits boost their visibility and get their message out in each of the three realms that our divisions focus on – signage/exhibit graphics, photography, and vehicle graphics .
- Our whole staff can feel proud knowing Imagine Group is serious about being social responsible - giving away over $10,000 worth of goods and services to non-profits every year
- We harness the power of social media to engage and connect with clients and community members, so everyone gets that good feeling of helping causes they care about.
- And this year’s grand prize “package” of photography, concepting, design and installation of a vehicle wrap will help one non-profit take their cause related marketing efforts to a whole new level thanks to the incredible visibility of vehicle graphics – thousands of views per day!
So now our staff committee will be sifting through the 60 or so non-profits who’ve been nominated this year, and try to decide where our services will have the most impact.
