Peek of the Week - Flaming wrenches!

This week's Peek of the Week is a hood wrap on a Prius owned by Eugene Power Tool Repair. Nikita, our Graphic Artist who worked on the design, calls it 'the flaming wrenches'! Sign up for Peek of the Week and we'll send you one cool photo every week.

I would like to nominate a great company striving for the future of our community. They are doing their best to get the word out that all people have a right to be treated with dignity and respect. The name of this great company is Oregon Supported Living Program!

Thank you for the opportunity to nominate Luv-A-Bull Pit Bull Rescue for your $10,000 give away. Their mission is to rehome dogs from high-kill animal shelters in Los Angeles. It would be a great help to the organization to have new printing materials to go with our new outreach and marketing campaign.

I would like to nominate Maude Kerns Art Center of Lane County, Oregon.

The Maude Kerns Art Center has served the Lane County community for 61 years through exhibitions of local, national, and international artists in the galleries, art classes in all media for adults and children, lectures, open studios, and workshops. We have an onsite artist’s ceramics cooperative where we offer ceramics instruction. We are the community’s oldest nonprofit Art Center for the visual arts.

The Art Center‘s mission is to “nurture artistic expression and creativity in the individual and to cultivate an appreciation and understanding of art and culture in our community.” The Art Center is located in the oldest standing church building in Lane County (1895), and now finds itself in the neighborhood of the newly constructed Matthew Knight Arena.

The Maude Kerns Art Center has a large undertaking with Phase I of a re-visioning of the Art Center, which includes repainting of the exterior of our historic building. This new vision is beautifully depicted in a full-color architectural rendering created by TBG Architects + Planners. Please let us know if we could email you an electronic copy. A number of community businesses – TBG Architects + Planners, Gaviotas Painting, and Tommy’s Paint Pot/Benjamin Moore -- are partnering with the Center to provide services and in-kind support.

Phase I also includes the installation of artistic roof-to-ground banners that will inspire the public on the outside. Imagine Graphics Great Giveaway offers a wonderful opportunity to have banners created that will promote the Art Center and contribute in an important way to our new vision.
